The Behind the Wheel Course
The BTW Course provides the required training for the initial license needed to become a Driver Education Instructor in the State of Connecticut. The BTW Course consists of 30-hours of classroom instruction and a 15-hour behind-the-wheel observation. Upon the completion of the 45-hour program, you will be required to take a DMV 50-Question examination and a Behind-the-Wheel examination.
The Advanced Course
The Advanced Driver Education Course is for those individuals who already have their Behind-the-Wheel Instructor's License. This course needs to be successfully-completed within three (3) years from the date when you obtained your BTW Instructor's License. This is a 45-Hour classroom course---currently the Advanced Course is not a requirement to maintain your Initial Instructor's License.
